Become a LenderThe Family-to-Family Project has arrived in the Dominican Republic with enough pledges to get started with the Pilot Project. The first few loans can be paid out to borrowing families without delay once they have been approved.
More lenders are needed to cover the projected number of loans to be made during the Pilot Project period.
Micro-enterprise loans are generally made for less than $500. We are asking our lenders to make pledges in even amounts of $150, $250 or $500, in an effort to simplify our administrative process.
Although you will be pledging money to loan to another family, we ask you not to pledge money that you could not afford to freely give without expectation of its return, as your loan will be unsecured.
We anticipate that you may want to help more and will allow you to designate that any payments on your loan be automatically converted to donations for the Project. As the Family-to-Family Project is a federally recognized 501(c)3 charitable organization, your donations will be tax deductible.
